The Scriptures describe a sinful lifestyle as “corrupt.” To be “corrupt,” means to live in disobedience to God’s commandments. Therefore, all of us are corrupt in the sight of God. But not only are we corrupt ourselves, we are also guilty of corrupting others. In this sermon, Fr. Toms explains that individuals and the various institutions of our culture are engaged in the business of corrupting others by encouraging people to live in disobedience to God. In many ways, our nation and our churches are responsible for spreading moral corruption around the world. By living corrupt lives and encouraging others to do so, we bring destruction upon ourselves and other others. The only way to escape this cycle of being corrupt and a being a “corrupter” is to escape the corruption of the world through knowing our Lord Jesus Christ.
