For centuries, many human beings have devised methods to try to attain union with the “divine.” In this message, Fr. Toms show that St. Peter teaches that there is a way to become “partakers of the divine nature.” But the Christian vision of becoming one with the divine nature is totally different from that of other religions or philosophies. We become partakers of the divine nature by being made one Jesus Christ through faith alone. Union with Christ results in our being conformed to the image of God, achieving moral excellence through escaping the lust of the world by the transforming work of the power of Christ.
