One of the favorite pastimes of American culture is mocking and sneering at the things of God. People in our society love to scoff at Holy Scripture, the Church, and Christian people. The Psalmist describes these people as “the scornful.” In this message, Fr. Toms points out that the scornful are nothing new, but have been around since the beginning. While those who mock the Christian faith seem so witty and intelligent, the scornful are the people who are in the greatest spiritual danger. Their attitude reveals that they have been incredibly hardened by sin. The Psalmist warns us of the danger of falling into this dangerous attitude.
