When the prophet Isaiah looks at the sinfulness of the people of God, he lets out a heartfelt, agonizing cry of grief. While the sight of the wickedness of the people rightfully produces righteous indignation, Isaiah is also filled with sadness and pity because of the spiritual condition of his own people. In this message, Fr. Toms explains that in this fourth verse of the first chapter of Isaiah, the prophet begins to list the various kinds of sins of which his people are guilty. As the Christian looks around at the iniquities that are being committed in this country, even in our churches, we should join Isaiah in lamenting that we are a sinful nation.
